Just a reminder the Wembley campus will be closed over the Holidays. Kingsbury campus will be closed from 24th December and will reopen on the 4th January 2011.

Tube Strike

A reminder that there may be a tube strike on Monday. Please check with Journey Planner before you travel. If you have problems making the trip to school please contact Leonora who is covering for Kenny while he is on holiday.

NUS Extra

Free Calls to India with Post Office Phone Cards

International phone cards, available from the Post Office for £5, £10 or £20, have a special offer on in the month of November. A prayer room has now been set up at the Wembley Graduate campus. The Prayer Room is the first door on the left as people go through the double doors on the First Floor

Important Announcement MBA1

As of October 18, 2010, FFBD class will run from 9:00-12:00
Therefore, ELS class will be moved to Tuesday 12.30-3.30 effective from October 19, 2010

Wembley Stadium

Wembley Stadium has the following events taking place over the coming months:

England v France 17th November
Please be aware that there will be major travel disruptions, check before you travel on www.tfl.gov.uk as bus routes will be altered and major delays are expected in the Wembley area on all transportation links and roads.

Student get-together at the Green Man Pub Friday

Students and staff are welcome to attend a get together at the Green Man Pub in Kingsbury on Friday from 6.30pm. Relax and enjoy each others company after a hard week of study. The Green Man is located near TASMAC, turn right onto Kingsbury road, walk 200m, turn right at the traffic lights. See you there!

Summer Picnic

Unfortunately the summer picnic has been cancelled due to the low number of students who signed up for it. We apologise to those students who were looking forward to event and we will reschedule a similar event soon.

Football Tournament

Football Tournament

A TASMAC 5-a-side football tournament will take place on the morning of Saturday the 14th august . Organised by Student Services, the competition consists of a “World Cup” style knockout tournament with different classes and cohorts competing against each other. The draw for the competition will take place soon and fixtures released as soon as possible. Keep an eye out on the student services news blog for more information. Any student wishing to participate should contact Student Services to register their interest or submit there team.

Careers Advice

A reminder to students that Priyanka will be based at the Wembley Graduate Campus on Monday, Tuesday and Friday. She will be at the Kingsbury Undergraduate Campus on Wednesday and Thursday.

Lords Cricket

The time of the Lords coaching session has been changed to 5pm. Students are asked to meet at the Kingsbury Campus at 4pm to travel to Lords.

Visit to Lords Cricket Ground- Tour, net and training session

There will be a visit to Lords Cricket Ground on the 30th July for any student wishing to join the tour and participate in a net and training session with the coach from the Bangladeshi under 21's cricket coach. Numbers will be limited so sign up soon at Student Services. Students may pay a deposit of £10. This deposit will be refunded on the day, at arrival of the event. There will also be a cricket match against Holborn College in August, watch this space for more information.

Conversation/Debating Club

Come along to TASMAC's first converstion club get together. Opportunities for you to practice your spoken English on a wide range of topics and debates. Thursday 28th July 13.30-14.30, Room 101, Kingsbury Campus.

Student Association

Student Association elections will be held for semester 1 students. Any student wishing to put their name forward for class represenative should inform a member of the student services team.

Careers Advisor

Priyanka, TASMAC's Careers Advisor, will now split her time between Ujima House in Wembley and TASMAC House in Kingsbury. Priyanka will be based in Wembley on Monday, Tuesday and Friday, and in Kingsbury on Wednesday and Thursday. Any student wishing to make an appointment for careers advice should be aware of this schedule.

New Campus for MBA and MQP students

After months of speculation about TASMAC opening a new campus, I am pleased to officially announce that TASMAC London School of Business will open it’s Wembley campus on Monday 21st June. The new MBA Campus is a very exciting venue for our students, located in the bustling heart of iconic Wembley, famous for being the home of English football and the world renowned stadium and music venue. The campus is 5 km away from the Kingsbury campus and can be reached by bus or train in approximately 15 minutes and is about a 5 minute walk from Wembley Central Tube station. All MBA and MQP programmes will be taught in Wembley while BBA, DFP and English programmes will remain at the Kingsbury campus. MBA students are asked to turn up at the Wembley campus for the start of classes on Monday 21st June 2010. Timetables will be issued tomorrow, so please check the time of your first class and make sure you allow enough time to find the new building before your class. Exam Results

Exam results will be posted out to your home address on the 18th June 2010. Results will not be available for collection from school. Please make sure the school holds your correct address.

End of Term Holidays

The School is now officially on holiday from 21st May until the 20Th June with classes starting on the 21st June 2010.

Academic Gown Hire for the Graduation Ceremony

Gowns for the July 10th graduation ceremony are now available to hire and photo packages to book from the Ede and Ravenscroft website. Deadline to hire a gown is 25th June 2010, students who fail to hire a gown WILL NOT be allowed to participate in the ceremony and there will be no gowns available on the day. It is recommended that students also book photographs in advance as the company charge an extra administration fee on the day of the event. Please visit:

End of term party

There will be an end of term party on the 21st May 2010 at Funky Brownz in West Hendon. The party will start from 7pm, entry is free until 11pm. TASMAC Graduation Ceremony

TASMAC is pleased to announce that the MBA graduation ceremony will be held at the prestigious Landmark Hotel (http://www.landmarklondon.co.uk/index.html) in Marylebone on the 10th July 2010. The celebration of your achievements and accumulation of 16 months of hard work will consist of a graduation ceremony in the morning followed by a formal graduation ball and dinner in the evening. To attend the ceremony you must have completed your dissertation by 21st June 2010. Students will be allowed to invite guests to both the ceremony and party. Student Services will be able to assist by producing invitation letters to those guests who will need to apply for a visa. More information about registration and details of the event will be sent to your home address soon.

Suggestion Box

As requested by the Student Association, a suggestion box has been put in the kitchen for students to make anonymous suggestions and tips to the TASMAC management.

Internship Deadline

The deadline for dissertation students to apply for an unpaid internship is 30th April 2010. Applications forms are available from Student Services. Placements are still available for any student who has already handed in their dissertation if they contact Student Services as soon as possible.

Re-sit Exam Results

Please note that the results for all re-sits which were held on 20th and 21st March 2010 will released in third or the last week of April 2010.

Assessment tests for graduate job hunters

Anoop Bahorun will be hosting a short series of professional workshops designed to help graduate job hunters pass assessment tests. Assessment tests are increasingly used by employers in the recruitment process to filter out the best candidates. The first workshop will be based on numerical reasoning on Monday 12th April at 2.30-3.30pm in room 107. The second workshop on verbal reasoning at 11.30am-12.30pm will be on the 19th April in room 107.

Staff/Student Association Meeting

The first staff/student meeting of this term will take place on Friday 26th March 2010. Please approach your Student Representative with any agenda items you would like them to discuss at the meeting. The deadline for submission of agenda items by your rep is Thursday 12pm, so make sure you inform them as soon as possible.

CV one-to-one advice sessions

Students can book one-to-one CV advice sessions on Fridays. Appointments will last 15minutes and can be booked through Student Services.

TASMAC Cricket Team

There will be a meeting for any students wishing to join the TASMAC cricket team on Wednesday 24th March in room 205 at 12pm. All students are welcome to join.

Student Support Letters

From this week, all student support letters, including bank and enrolment letters, will be posted to your home address. They will no longer be available for collection from Student Services, please allow for 5 working days before your letter arrives.

Free tickets to see Shakespeare at the Globe Theatre

Students will have the opportunity to experience some real British culture with a trip to the Globe Theatre on the 5th March to see Shakespeare’s “Macbeth” . The globe theatre is a reconstruction of the original theatre where Shakespeare performed his plays in the 1500’s. The performance will start at 7pm and finish around 9pm. As tickets are limited, any student wishing to go will need to pay a £5 deposit to Jenny, the deposit will be refunded on the night on the event.

Welcome Party/Freshers Party

A freshers party will be held at Masti in Wembley on Thursday 18th February. Entry costs £5 and includes a soft drink. For more information please contact the social events coordinator, Jenny, at reception.

EXAM Results

Exam results will be posted out to the student's home address on Friday19th February. Please make sure the school has your correct contact details. Results will no longer be sent out by email or available to collect. The results for students with an outstanding balance of course fees or accommodation fees will be withheld. The results for students with attendance rates below the required level will also be withheld.

Feb 2010 Timetables

The timetable for the term is now out and available from the public drive and displayed on noticeboards in school. An email will be sent out soon with a link from which you can download your timetable.

Lunch Breaks

From the start of the new term on the 15th February, students can now buy freshly made sandwiches and snacks from the student kitchen/lounge area. From 12pm a local sandwich company will be selling food on campus. No more rushing down to Greggs or Subway, buy your lunch at TASMAC!

Holiday Extension

Your first day of classes will now be on the 15th February at the TASMAC Kingsbury Campus. The 8th-12th of February will remain the orientation and enrolment week for new students with classes for everyone starting on the 15th. Let me reassure you that classes will be back to normal from then. Any student who would like a new "Permission to Work Full-time" letter for the extended holiday period can request it from www.tasmaclondon.org.uk. Enjoy your extended break and we will look forward to welcoming you back on the 15th!

University of Wales Graduation Ceremony

For many of our October 2008 batch of students, you have almost completed your course and you will be busy finalising your dissertation. As your time at TASMAC draws to a close, it is time to start thinking about your graduation ceremony. TASMAC will be holding a graduation ceremony for graduate students after you have completed your course, also the University of Wales is holding their annual graduation ceremony at the end of May. All graduate students of TASMAC are invited to attend, for detailed information about the event and to register online for the ceremony, go to The University of Wales website: www.wales.ac.uk/graduation

University of Wales ID Number

MBA Semester 1 students can now collect their University of Wales matriculation letter/number from Student Services.
